Terms of Use

1. Introduction & Acceptance

Welcome to RoleWeaver.ai ("the Service"), operated by RoleWeaver.ai ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

3. Account Registration & Security

  • You must provide accurate and complete registration information.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access at contact@roleweaver.ai.
  • One account per person. Account sharing is not permitted.

4. Description of Service

RoleWeaver.ai is an AI-powered interactive storytelling platform that allows users to:

  • Create worlds, characters, locations, and lore
  • Generate images, videos, and text using AI
  • Play interactive visual novel stories with an AI Game Master
  • Share and discover community-created worlds and characters

5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

The AI technology used by RoleWeaver.ai is experimental and evolving. AI-generated content (text, images, videos) may be:

  • Inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected
  • Offensive or inappropriate despite safety measures
  • Inconsistent between sessions

AI output does not represent the views of RoleWeaver.ai and should not be relied upon as professional advice of any kind (medical, legal, financial, or otherwise). You assume all risk for your use of and reliance on AI-generated content.

6. User-Generated Content

You are responsible for all content you create, upload, or share through the Service ("User Content"), including worlds, characters, stories, images, and text.

You represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the necessary rights to your User Content
  • Your User Content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights
  • Your User Content complies with these Terms and applicable law

7. Content Ownership & Licensing

Your content is yours. You retain all ownership rights to User Content you create on the Service.

By using the Service, you grant RoleWeaver.ai a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, display, and transmit your User Content solely as necessary to operate and provide the Service (including backups, caching, and serving content to users you share it with).

When you share content publicly (via Discover), you grant other users the right to view, clone, and remix it according to the sharing permissions you set (allowRemix, allowReshare).

This license terminates when you delete your content from the Service, except where copies have been cloned by other users under your sharing permissions.

Fanworks, Transformative Content & Third-Party IP

RoleWeaver.ai is a home for creative fiction, including original works and fanworks — transformative content inspired by existing media, books, games, movies, and other creative properties. We believe in the value of transformative creative expression.

However:

  • RoleWeaver.ai does not claim that fanworks or AI-generated content are authorized by original rights holders.
  • AI-generated text, images, and videos may inadvertently resemble existing copyrighted works, characters, or trademarks. RoleWeaver.ai makes no guarantee that AI-generated content is free of third-party intellectual property.
  • You are solely responsible for the content you create, share, and publish. By sharing content publicly (via Discover or otherwise), you represent that you have the right to do so or that your content constitutes fair use or transformative work under applicable law.
  • Private content (not shared publicly) is your personal creative work. Sharing or publishing content that infringes third-party IP is done at your own risk and liability.
  • If we receive a valid copyright complaint about your shared content, we will remove it in accordance with our Copyright Takedown procedure (Section 8 below). Repeat infringers may have their accounts terminated.

RoleWeaver.ai is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice on copyright or fair use. If you are unsure whether your content may infringe third-party rights, seek independent legal counsel before sharing it publicly.

8. Copyright Takedown (DMCA)

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice to our designated agent:

Your notice must include:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
  • Identification of the infringing material and its location on the Service
  • Your contact information (name, address, email, phone)
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf
  • Your physical or electronic signature

Upon receiving a valid notice, we will remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content and notify the user who posted it. Users may submit a counter-notification if they believe the removal was in error.

Repeat infringers may have their accounts terminated.

9. Subscriptions & Payment

  • The Service offers free and paid subscription tiers (Basic, Ultra, Max) with different feature limits and credit allocations.
  • Paid subscriptions auto-renew monthly unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • Payments are processed by third-party payment processors. We do not store your payment information directly.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' advance notice.
  • Refunds are handled in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws.

10. Credits & Virtual Currency

Credits are used to generate AI images and videos within the Service.

  • Credits are licensed, not sold — you have no ownership rights over credits.
  • Credits are non-transferable between accounts.
  • Credits have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • Subscription credits accrue over time at a rate determined by your plan. Purchased credit packs are added immediately.
  • We may modify credit values, costs, and accrual rates.
  • Unused credits may be forfeited upon account termination for violation of these Terms.

11. Intellectual Property

The Service — including its visual interfaces, graphics, code, design, AI models, and compilation — is the property of RoleWeaver.ai or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

You receive a limited, non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
  • Reproduce, modify, or create derivative works of the Service itself (not your content)
  • Use AI outputs to train competing AI models
  • Scrape, mine, or extract data through automated means

12. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Create, share, or distribute content depicting sexual exploitation of minors — this is an absolute zero-tolerance policy resulting in immediate and permanent account termination and report to authorities
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
  • Share content that promotes real-world violence or harm
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Create deepfakes or non-consensual intimate imagery of real people
  • Transmit malware or attempt to compromise the Service's security
  • Circumvent access controls, rate limits, or content filters
  • Share account credentials with others
  • Use the Service to generate spam or unsolicited communications

13. Mature & NSFW Content

RoleWeaver.ai is an 18+ platform. Certain features may generate or display mature, explicit, or NSFW content.

  • Mature content is only accessible to users who have confirmed they are 18+.
  • Users may enable an NSFW lock in their preferences to restrict explicit content generation.
  • Even with mature content enabled, the prohibitions in Section 12 apply at all times.
  • Shared/published content that is explicit must be created with sharing permissions that allow recipients to understand its nature.

14. Content Moderation & Enforcement

We reserve the right to:

  • Review, remove, or disable access to any content at our discretion
  • Suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
  • Report illegal content to appropriate authorities
  • Cooperate with law enforcement investigations

We are not obligated to monitor all content but may do so to protect the safety and integrity of the Service.

15. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party AI providers (for text, image, and video generation) and payment processors. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for third-party service availability, accuracy, or conduct.

16. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for information on how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the Service, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

17. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service is limited to the greater of €100 or the amounts you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue, or profits.
  • We are not responsible for service interruptions, errors, data loss, or AI output quality.

18. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RoleWeaver.ai, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

19. Termination

  • You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at contact@roleweaver.ai.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice.
  • Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
  • Content you shared publicly may continue to exist as clones owned by other users.
  • Re-registration after a ban is prohibited.

20. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of France. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of France.

Before initiating any formal proceedings, you agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us at contact@roleweaver.ai. We will make good-faith efforts to resolve the matter within 30 days.

21. General Provisions

  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and RoleWeaver.ai regarding the Service.
  • No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
  • Assignment: We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms. You may not assign yours.
  • Force Majeure: We are not liable for failures or delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
